Building Positions in ETF's 2015

Starting in 2015 I have started to build positions in ETF's that I am most interested in that offer me the investments and returns that I am seeking.

Buy utilizing the commission free trades, I am able to dollar cost average on each position as I am able to put money into each selected ETF. 


My overall goal is to capture dividend income and build account.

VNQ- Vanguard REIT Index Fund ETF Shares

BIV- Vanguard Intermediate-Term Bond Index Fund ETF Shares

VYM - Vanguard High Dividend Yield Index Fund ETF Shares

• Seeks to track the performance of the FTSE® High Dividend Yield Index, which measures the investment return of common stocks of companies characterized by high dividend yields.
• Provides a convenient way to track the performance of stocks with histories of above-average dividend yields.
• Follows a passively managed, full-replication approach.
• Vanguard site VYM

low expense ratio, great yield, excellent track record. 
I am still waiting on a pull back to start buying into this ETF, I am hesitant to buy into VYM when its up this high.

VNQ - Vanguard REIT Index Fund ETF Shares

• Invests in stocks issued by real estate investment trusts (REITs), companies that purchase office buildings, hotels, and other real property.
• Goal is to closely track the return of the MSCI US REIT Index, a gauge of real estate stocks.
• Offers high potential for investment income and some growth; share value rises and falls more sharply than that of funds holding bonds.
• Appropriate for helping diversify the risks of stocks and bonds in a portfolio
• Vanguard site VNQ

low expense ratio, great yield, excellent track record. 
I am still waiting on a pull back to start buying into this ETF, I am hesitant to buy into VYM when its up this high.

VUG - Vanguard Growth Index Fund ETF Shares

• Seeks to track the performance of the CRSP US Large Cap Growth Index.
• Provides a convenient way to match the performance of many of the nation’s largest growth stocks.
• Follows a passively managed, full-replication approach
• Vanguard Site VUG

low expense ratio, great yield, excellent track record. 
I am still waiting on a pull back to start buying into this ETF, I am hesitant to buy into VYM when its up this high.

VEU - Vanguard FTSE All-World ex-US Index Fund ETF Shares

• Seeks to track the performance of the FTSE All-World ex US Index.
• Provides a convenient way to get broad exposure across developed and emerging non-U.S. equity markets around the world.
• Passively managed, using index sampling
• Vanguard Site VEU

I have started buying into this ETF as it has gotten beaten up a bit, will keep adding as the progresses.

BIV - Vanguard Intermediate-Term Bond Index Fund ETF Shares

• Seeks to track the investment return of the Barclays U.S. 5–10 Year Government/Credit Float Adjusted Index, a market-weighted bond index that covers investment-grade bonds with a dollar-weighted average maturity of 5 to 10 years.
• Invests in U.S. government high-quality (investment grade) corporate and investment-grade international dollar-denominated bonds.
• Passively managed, using index sampling
• Vanguard Site BIV

I have also started a position in BIV looks great for a fixed income play, good monthly dividend.
